FAQ
- What are the origins of She Won?
SheWon.org was launched in 2021 by a woman troubled by the rising trend of men displacing women in female-only sports competitions. What began as one woman’s concern has grown into a dedicated volunteer effort, uniting professional athletes (including national champions and Olympians), former athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters.
Our mission is straightforward: we view male participation in women’s sports as inherently unfair, so we document these cases to push for policy reform and honor the true female victors.
- Who can submit information to She Won?
Anyone can submit a tip to SheWon.org. However, every submission is vetted by our team before we publish it to the website. To learn more about our methodology visit the About page.
- What does "# of medals" mean? How do you tally these medals?
A male athlete in first displaces the second, third, and fourth-place women, counting three medals lost; in second, it’s third and fourth, counting two; and so on, up to three per event. We cap it there for practicality, though the ripple effect goes further. Every male entrant skews the entire playing field, not just the podium.
